Description

This bull elk got a second change at life after getting a serious injury during a fight during the elk rut the previous year. This bull got into a big battle with another bull over some cow elk and this bull got his jaw broken and his lower lip was completely torn off. Some of the locals put out large barrels of water so he could get his head in far enough to drink. The Division Of Wildlife was fianlly able to tranqualize this guy and fix his jaw and sew most of his lip back on. He had gone through two surgeries and is now thriving and getting a second change at life again. His lip still hangs down in one area, but he can fully eat and drink again now without any problems. At a quick glance, it may look like he is sticking his tongue out at you.
