Description
This baby elk calf had just been born right before we drove by. The mother elk was just down the hill drawing attention away from the newborn calf. She soon went back to the calf and started licking it to clean it up some more. The calf then started to take its first steps and they soon walked away up the hill. This photograph was taken in Rocky Mountain National Park, in Colorado. This is located west of Estes Park, Colorado.
