Description
This young Black Crowned Night Heron was hunting for food near the water's edge. I was able to find a small opening in the weeds and plants to get a couple pictures of it. This bird was photographed at Glenmere Park in Greeley, Colorado. Multiple breeds of herons and egrets come here each year to breed out on the island in the middle of the lake. On occasion, I've seen some very rare birds here that normally are not found in Colorado.
